The P38 replaced the well-known Luger P08. After nearly seven years of modifications, the 1933 prototype was finally ready for service when the Germans needed more firepower. This user-friendly, easy-to-disassemble handgun became a popular 'souvenir' among Allied soldiers who managed to ‘confiscate’ them. The Walther P38 has appeared in many movies, including "The Dirty Dozen" and the Indiana Jones trilogy.
